My First Thoughts on Twitter Audio Tweets

Twitter introduced audio tweets as a new feature this past week. Another way to add personality to tweets using voice. 

I jotted down my simple initial first thoughts on it and wanted to share them.

First thoughts:

• Use them as pinned tweets–prime real estate
• A funny aspect –> used like back in my day recording ring tones for voicemail
• See a big use for musicians to preview and promote music
• Sports teams can use for highlights and scores (especially if no video available)
• The player stays at the bottom of the screen so you can keep scrolling and listen–opens the possibility for longer format in the future (learned each audio tweet is a max of 2 minutes and 20 seconds–a thread is created after in the initial audio tweet)
